Write 3× faster. Just say it.
WaveVoice is a voice typing app for Mac that I designed and built. Press ⌥ Space in any app, speak, and clean, punctuated text appears right at your cursor — in Mail, Slack, Xcode, Notion or anywhere else you write. Filler words are removed, punctuation is added, and you can dictate commands like quotes or new paragraphs. Every dictation is also copied to the clipboard and saved to your history.
More than dictation
- Meetings without bots. It records your microphone and the call audio separately, tells speakers apart, and turns the conversation into decisions and action items. It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Slack and FaceTime, and exports to Markdown.
- Personal dictionary. Names, brands and acronyms come out spelled the way you spell them.
- Voice notes, history and stats to capture ideas on the go and see how much you’ve dictated.
- Your choice of model. Run fully offline with NVIDIA Parakeet or Apple’s on-device models, connect your own server (Ollama, whisper.cpp), or use OpenAI or Claude with your own API key.
Private by design
The core idea is simple: your voice never leaves your Mac. Transcription, cleanup and speaker detection run on-device, history and meetings are encrypted at rest, and nothing goes to the cloud unless you explicitly plug in your own key or server. No account required, and the app is signed and notarized by Apple.
Built to be bought once
WaveVoice runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 26 or later, and its interface is available in English, Spanish and French. There is no subscription: a free 7-day trial with full access, then a one-time license — Solo (CA$19, 1 Mac) or Personal (CA$29, up to 3 Macs) — with lifetime updates. Pay once. Talk forever.
